CSVANW Sends Condolences to Family of Kyron Kelewood, a Twenty-One-Month-Old Found Dead Outside of Shiprock

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – June 28, 2019 – The Coalition to Stop Violence Against Native Women (CSVANW) is devastated to hear reports of Kyron Kelewood, a twenty-one-month-old, who was found dead outside of Shiprock, NM, after being reported missing Thursday night.
The CSVANW sends its deepest condolences to the family of Kyron Kelewood and urges the community to keep the family in their prayers.
“Our hearts are broken to learn that our community has lost a little one too soon. We ask our communities to join us in sending light and love to the family of Kyron during this unimaginably painful time,” says Angel Charley, CSVANW Interim Executive Director.
Law enforcements have not released a cause of death or whether there are any suspects in this case. The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Navajo Division of Public Safety will lead the investigation into the disappearance and lost of Kyron.
“We also want to thank the Navajo Police Department, county law enforcement, leaders, and the community for their efforts and support”, says Charley.
