My name is Lesley Mendoza-Beltran, and I was raised in the beautiful region of Northern New Mexico by a loving and hardworking immigrant family. As a proud Mexican American, I have developed a deep appreciation and respect for all cultures, communities, and identities.
I have always been drawn to helping others, which has inspired my goal to pursue higher education in social clinical psychology. I believe in the power of healing through connection, understanding, and empowerment.
My advocacy journey began in 2023, and within a year, I stepped into the role of shelter supervisor. For me, advocacy goes beyond providing survivors with tools to grow strong and independent. It means building relationships rooted in trust, respect, and professionalism. Supporting survivors—and their children—as they reclaim their power and realize their fullest potential is what fuels my commitment to this work.
