CSVANW would like to welcome our newest member to the #CSVANW Team! Keioshiah Peter will be serving as the Coalition’s new Native Youth Coordinator. Keioshiah brings years of exemplary experience working with community-based Native youth programs such as Rising Native Youth, Native Youth Leadership Alliance, the Rez Condom Tour and Young Women United. Keioshiah has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (human services and social policy) and a Bachelor of Arts in Native American Studies focused in Indigenous knowledge systems.
Keioshiah (Diné) is of the Folded Arms People Clan and born for the Mexican People Clan. They are from Kirtland, New Mexico and are currently a pursing a Master’s in American Studies at the University of New Mexico. Their knowledge, curiosity, and concern for their family and respected Native Nation have shaped them into an individual who is willing to apply their skills and knowledge to betterment of their community. They strive to continue the resistance and decolonial work in sexual and reproductive justice in the Native Nation and surrounding areas through the Rez Condom Tour and non-profit partnership with the Native Youth Sexual Health Network and Young Women United.
